Abstract :
This doctoral research, conducted within the framework of a CIFRE agreement, examines the phenomenon of wandering at the boundary between inside and outside, within the margins of what is included and what is excluded. Drawing on clinical practice with unaccompanied minor adolescents described as experiencing *aggravated wandering*, the research brings together genealogical, topological, and clinical approaches according to a logic of braiding inspired by Lacanian topology, with the aim of offering a new understanding of wandering.
To this end, it draws on a topological clinical approach and on the articulation between real privation and imaginary frustration through the topology of the torus. Its aim is to delineate a new clinical field: a clinic of wandering conceived as a clinic of the edge and the border, at the slit of the eye and beyond the urban realm—a clinic capable of inscribing a liveable margin, a space in which desire may be (re)formulated.
The research also proposes to rethink reception and support systems in light of this clinic of wandering and, in doing so, examines the clinician’s place within these institutions. The central concern is to sustain the conditions for an encounter capable of opening up a space for elaboration, in which a habitable margin and a singular knotting of body, place, and social bond may take shape.
